If you need to perform a search for a very specific type of person

There are two sites out there that offer especially useful searches if you desire to meet someone of a certain "type", whether it be religion, race, body type, education, etc.  These are both superior to many of the other sites available because they have more members (note:  that means more choices and matches), AND more search features than the other sites.  They are also both international sites, so that you are not just getting results that are geographically undesirable.  One more thing: they are both also free to join and search, however, as explained below, they both try to "up-sell" you.

Okay, so Friend Finder, and its sexy sister-site, Adult Friend Finder have exceptionally good search features.  Besides the usual search parameters that a user can enter, users can also search on other things.  For example, a user can specify that the search only return people who live within a certain distance or city or who have used the site within the last week, or month, or whatever.  In addition, there are many check boxes wherein a user can specify religious practices, sexual likes and dislikes (on Adult Friend Finder). 

Other features and considerations:

bulletMembership is free, and so is searching and sending messages to other members; however, the BEST search features are saved for paying members AND free members have a limited number of uses per day. 
bulletThere are also LOTS of chat rooms that are free to use -- you might run into the person of your dreams right there. 
bulletYou can also buy your own private chat room, and only give the password to other members you like.
bulletThey have a search agent that will keep track of the type of person you want to meet, and email you if a new person joins.
